EFT: Emotional FreedomTechnique
Alternative Healing that often works where nothing else will...

What is EFT?
EFT is based on a new discovery that has provided thousands with relief from pain, diseases and emotional issues. Simply stated, it is an emotional version of acupuncture except needles aren't necessary. Instead, you stimulate well established energy meridian points on your body by tapping on them with your fingertips. The process is easy to memorize and is portable so you can do it anywhere. It launches off the EFT Discovery Statement which says...
"The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system."
And because our physical pains and diseases are so obviously connected with our emotions the following statement has also proven to be true...
"Our unresolved negative emotions are major contributors to most physical pains and diseases."
This common sense approach draws its power from (1) time-honored Eastern discoveries that have been around for over 5,000 years and (2) Albert Einstein, who told us back in the 1920's that everything (including our bodies) is composed of energy. These ideas have been largely ignored by Western Healing Practices and that is why EFT often works where nothing else will. As you will clearly see, conventional healing methods have overlooked the obvious.

The Gift Of Giving
"Happiness comes from Giving not getting. If we try hard to bring happiness to others, we cannot stop it from comming to us also. To get joy, we must give it, and to keep joy we must
scatter it." -JohnTempleton

Wise Holiday Alcohol Intake...
The holidays are a time of joy and celebration.Heres a few ways to keep the Cheer from sabotaging your healthy weight and lifestyle!
First and foremost, alcohol is a poison and your body must fight to get it out of your system. It directly impairs liver function thus severely hampering your metabolism of fat. If fat loss is your main goal moderation is a key.
Think about how much you consume and the caloric value of each drink. Alcohol contains 7 calories per gram. This is almost twice that of carbohydrates and protein and just under the 9 grams per calorie for fat. Here is an example: consuming 2-3 drinks a day can add up to over 400 calories extra each and every day. Multiply that by one week and you are over 2700 calories extra. That is over a half a pound.
Consuming alcohol again stops all fat burning, adds extra calories, increases estrogen level (stubborn fat), increases appetite and makes you more easily persuaded to eat that entire desert plate.
There are some simple guidelines you can follow that will not only help you stay on the fat burning path, but will encourage better overall health.
Drinking red wine is much better for you then drinking beer.
Try to stay away from extra sweet drinks with added sugars. This will keep your blood sugar from a massive spike while having a drink. Have you ever wondered why are these drinks are so popular?Follow the European model; eat some fat or protein with your drink. The more food you have in your belly the slower the absorption. It also aids in insulin regulation. Avoid high carbohydrates snack with alcohol. It carries many metabolic problems like insulin elevation and high fat levels in your blood stream.
According to nutrition writer Ori Hofmelker below is a list of good to bad:
1. Red wine - Best
2. White wine
3. Champagne
4. Vodka
5. Gin
6. Rum
7. Whiskey
8. Cognac
9. Sweet wines
10. Sweet mixed drinks
11. Liqueurs
12. BEER! Worst!

Wishing you and your loved ones the Happiest and Healthiest of Holidays!

Manic Monday

Why is it that some people are so driven by EXCUSES? If something isn't wrong they will find something to be wrong...
I am seriously tired of hearing so many excuses, it's like this...if you dont want to take care of your body, your mind, your spirit, your LIFE just say so AND stop finding some lame excuse to hide behind.
When is the TIME really going to come? When will you decide to take ACTION? When it's too late?
I don't get it. I mean, my life has NOT been a cakewalk by any means. BUT, I REFUSE to sit on my ASS and watch it just GO BY!
If you want something, you have to go out and GET IT. No one is going to take you by the hand and help you tiptoe around all the cracks.
There are so many people going out and making their life what they wish it to be...
ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE...
JUST DO IT!

"The future depends on what we do in the present." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

WILDFIRES

In the midst of your BUSY days, please take a moment to send positive energy to those who need it most at these times...

Russian Kettlebell Challenge in MN

I DID IT!

I made my trip out to Minnesota for the RKC this last weekend. I was a bit nervous because I did not know anyone or what to expect. On the shuttle ride to the hotel I met Roy who I ended up sharing a room with at the Hilton...thanks man! if I hadnt met him I would have had to stay out at the Exel and missed out on a lot of the events with everyone.

So, the snatch test was a breeze and group training was awsome. My training partner for the weekend was Jason Wood on TEAM O'CONNER. I could not have asked for a better partner, he was motivating, strong and funny! We pushed each other to the max everytime! he showed me how to flip the bells and man was he quuick with the swings. His girlfriend came out and snapped some pics and shared her company with us as well, she is also an amazing person!

I cant begin to explain how amazing my entire team was, actually EVERYONE that I met!

I am still waiting on some pics to post...

Till then, thank you EVERYONE!

an OFFICIAL RKC...

RAINY DAY Surprise

October in San Diego...you never know!

So my Boot Camp plans have been haulted by the surprise of waking up to pouring rain. That is the price I pay for holding all of my classes outdoors. The day my studio doors open will be a joyous one! So, anyway, class will be held tomorrow.

Marcel (my son) still has a football game today and we will be volunteering at the Octoberfest ( weather permitting) All in all still a fabulous day!

5 days till I leave for the RKC in MN, still no roommate or room! Guess I can use this hour of no class to look for a hotel room!

No workout today, Rest Day. Trained HARD all week and stepped back into a regular Yoga practice with a blend of Ashtanga, Power Vinyasa and Anusara...Feel GREAT!

LIFE IS AMAZING...

Getting back on track

Since Tuesday I have been on a high, after that snatch test I really have been motivated to kick my fitness level up alot! So Wednesday my friend Roger and I met up at Morley Field and ran through an awesome circuit, here's what we did:

Stations for 1 min each/ 10- 15 sec between stations/ 1 min rest after entire round/repeat x4
We chose a different sequence each set, mixin' it up as much as possible...it was a killer but FUN!

  • 1/4 filled Keg Press (30 secs)/ shouldering (30 secs)
  • Single Leg DL (30 secs each leg)
  • Renegade Row w/16 kg (30 secs)/ KB Tri Push Ups (30 secs)
  • Medicine Ball slams
  • Swings w/ 20kg
  • Thai Rope/ Jump rope
  • A few wood chops and power roundhouse kicks on the shield to tie it all together in the end
*Made sure each side was always even in repetitions for all exercises

Thursday was rest day, I taught my new class time at Ginseng Yoga studio in the big room. It's makes so much more sense for my class to be in that room w the hard wood floors and great space for all the creative flows I like to work with as well as inversions and arm balances. It was a great turnout and the dark night sky due to the time change gave the class a very soothing vibe with the dim lights and tribal tunes.
Now all I need to do is get back into my own practice on a regular basis. YOGA is AMAZING, it truly HEALS on many levels, especially the HEART.

Today was KB Swing/ Snatch and Kickboxing workout in the park w Roger and OMG, it's been a long time. I can still remember training that way EVERYDAY and it has to be at least 6 months since I really trained kickboxing and I FELT IT!

If you don't use it, you lose it!

NEW SSST RECORD WOMEN

Yesterday I set a new record for the SSST (12 kg)for women! I was tested yesterday at Revolution Fitness Center and beat the previous record of 301, I performed 319 snatches in ten mins...!!!! And I am proud to say I also hold the record for the women's TSC (16 kg) of 139 snatches in 5 mins.

When I agreed to be tested, I thought...OMG! 300snatches in 10 mins, thats gotta be the hardest thing ever, BUT I must say it was more about focus and determination to get it done then anything else! I refused to stop and never put the bell down, I wanted to achieve my greatest. And what an amazing feeling to have completed and SET THE NEW RECORD!!!

My friend Roger said if I didn't get at least 310 he would kick my a**, HA! he's in trouble now! (thanks for the motivation ol' man!)

Like I always say...

If you believe, you can achieve...NEVER GIVE UP!

Loss of definition...

Wow! over the last few months I have REALLY lost definition and seem to be more "soft". Time to refocus and get LEAN! After my injury I have been avoiding a lot of exercises and am now excited to start up again, slowly of course, being cautious not to over do it. Ten min. Snatches comming up this week and then it's time to design a plan!

NON STOP...142 Snatches w/ 16kg

Yesterday I decided to try out the Snatch test from the TSC again...

I have been resting a lot from training so heavy the last 2 months and felt like I needed to JUMP START my workouts again, so I gave it a go!

It was exhausting, with no adrenaline rush of competition I really felt each of those snatches. I improved my PR! At the TSC I had a total of 139 in 5 mins, yesterday I had 142 in 5 mins!!!

Next time I will be tested by Yoana for 10 mins with the 12 kg, even though its lighter, I know TEN MINS is a looong time. I will try to escape into my Bad Boy Bill CD!

Today

Rotation diet: Coffee (organic decaf), Red Meat day, veggies, no fruit, nuts, fish oil, digestive enzymes, probiotics and lots of H2O!!!

Workout: Today I am "working IN" doing Yoga, walking, breathwork and meditation!

It's the working in that gives us the energy we NEED to work out!

Rain, reflection and yoga

It has been a long time coming...this RAIN we are having today in San Diego! Boot Camp had to be cancelled due to the wetness, don't want anyone getting injured. Too bad, it could actually be really fun in the rain.
What a better day than this one to create my first blog.

The last few months have been busy. I trained for 2 months for the TSC (brutal!- won 1st in snatches!), suffered an injury to my shoulder (still healing), tried to surf for the first time (brrrrr...it was already COLD but FUN!-thanks Rhonda) , started web site process (thanks ROG!), Started a Law of Attraction discussion group, discovered my son's independence (6Th grade, student council, working at the fair, hip hop dance classes, football, likes girls....ahhhhhh!, they grow up sooooo fast!) and sooooo much more! I have also been studying a great deal about holistic nutrition and lifestyle. Going to RKC in Oct and Chek's HLC course in November! Non-stop action!

I am really excited to start this whole process, it's great that we can all share with one another!

TODAY'S WORKOUT:

Ashtanga Yoga (practiced at home w/ the rain!) & Meditation
